Experimental Analysis of Atmospheric Ducts and Navigation Radar Over-the-Horizon Detection

Since the height of sea detection radar antenna and ship targets is relatively low, it generally believed that its over-the-horizon mainly caused by evaporation duct at sea. To fully understand influence atmospheric ducts on detection, a shore-based navigation was used to carry out experiments; radiosondes were measure profile monitoring equipment duct. The results show can affect signal propagation radar, thus resulting detection. long-range strong while only form weak which different from general cognition.
